Wesley Earl Acton, Utica, Ky., (1937-). African-American. Mr. Acton is an educator, Owensboro NAACP leader, co-founder and organizer of the Owensboro Human Relations Commission. Mr. Acton received the Owensboro Human Relations Award in 1989 for his long-time commitment to civic affairs and education. He has been active throughout his life in integrating schools, teaching positions, stores and businesses. He also lead efforts to clean, maintain and upgrade cemeteries for African Americans in his area.
