Commissioner V. Ann Newman


V. Ann Newman, of Ashland, will represent the 7th Supreme Court district. She is vice president of Compliance and Internal Controls at Ashland Credit Union.

She attended West Virginia Institute of Technology for two years and received an associate degree and later attending Ohio University (Southern Campus) and completing a Bachelors degree in May 1994. She completed CUNA Management School in 1998 and CUNA’s Regulatory Compliance Schools where she is certified as a “Credit Union Compliance Expert” (CUE).

She is the president of the Boyd and Greenup County Branch of the NAACP, the Secretary of the Kentucky State Conference of the NAACP and serves as the State Conference Auditor. She is the president and CEO of Newman and Associates Consulting, LLC (A consulting firm committed to promote diversity and diversity training and image consulting). She serves as commissioner to the Ashland Planning and Zoning and the Ashland Human Rights boards. She is also a board member of FIVCO, member of Boyd County Cooperative Extension Service, and treasurer, usher, and trustee of New Hope Baptist Church

She was the Chairperson of Shelter of Hope and member of Ashland Inc (Employees Advisory Committee), United Way Campaign, and Ashland Lions Club International

Her term expires Sept. 12, 2010.
