Commissioner V. Ann Newman


Ann Newman, of Ashland, Ky., represents the 7th Supreme Court District on the Commission Board. She is a retired vice president of Compliance and Internal Controls at Ashland Credit Union.

She is president of the Boyd and Greenup County Branch of the NAACP, the secretary of the Kentucky State Conference of the NAACP and serves as the State Conference auditor. She is president and CEO of Newman and Associates Consulting, LLC, a consulting firm that promotes diversity and provides diversity training and image consulting. She is a commissioner on the Ashland Planning and Zoning Board and the Ashland Human Rights Board. She is a board member of FIVCO, a member of Boyd County Cooperative Extension Service, and the treasurer, usher, and trustee of New Hope Baptist Church.

She was the chair of Shelter of Hope and a member of the Ashland Inc. Employees Advisory Committee, United Way Campaign, and Ashland Lions Club International.
